We have some reminders for tomorrow's first day. -Some 3rd graders are coming tomorrow and some will come for their first day on Thursday as part of our staggered start. Be sure you know what day you are coming and what day you are staying home! -If you are a car rider, drop off is 9a to 9:15a. Pick up is 3:20p to 3:40p. Please pull into the line and stay in your vehicle. Our staff members will greet students at the drop off area. Do not drop students in the HS parking lot as this creates an unsafe situation for your child and the other people in the car rider line. -If you are a bus rider, please be at your designated safe area at your stop five minutes before your pick up time and please wait ten minutes after your pick up time before contacting us about a missed bus. There will be some trial and error on pick up times as the drivers run their routes the first week or two. We can't wait to see everyone on their first day!

This is for car rider parents... Students can be dropped off starting at 9a. Students need to arrive by 9:15a to get to class in the morning. Pick up time is 3:20p to 3:45p. We will work through the process of car rider line as the year starts on August 19th. See below for an explanation of the process.

We will be continuing a "double stack" line in front of the HS to eliminate the cars that get stuck out on SR 60 in the morning and evening. As you pull in, there will be a sign that instructs vehicles to use both lanes.

Once you get to the turn and go to the Intermediate School (by the football stadium entrance), cars will merge back to one lane to pick up or drop off. We included a diagram to help (see the attached picture).

In the afternoon, Mr. Renner will be outside in the line to call names and you will merge once your student's name is called. This two-lane stack will help keep the line down and off of the state route to help with through traffic and buses getting where they need to be.

Please, wait until you get to the unloading area to let your child(ren) out of the car. Our staff members on duty will be there to help in the morning. Please remain in your vehicle while dropping off or picking up your child. Do not exit your vehicle. This will help keep things moving.

Also, please follow the drop off line process. Students being dropped in areas other than the curb area causes safety issues and stops in traffic when they walk in front of cars. Our car rider line goes pretty smoothly and most people are in and out in less than five minutes once the line starts moving, and we get into a routine. Please follow the outlined process to help everyone get where they need to be quickly and safely every morning and afternoon!

Thanks for your help with this! If you have questions, please reach out to Mr. Renner at RVIS.

Happy 4th of July!
Dear River View Families,
We’re excited to share that Healthy Kids Programs is partnering with River View Local Schools to provide before and after-school care for the 2026–2027 school year—and enrollment is now open! (This program is not run directly by River View Local Schools, but rather the third-party organization Healthy Kids.) The program is located at River View Elementary.
Programs are available for Kindergarten through 12-year-olds.

The programs are designed with flexibility in mind to meet the needs of busy families:
Before School Care
Available from 7:00 AM until the start of the school day
After School Care
Available from school dismissal until 6:00 PM
Both programs offer full-time and part-time monthly tuition options, so you can choose the schedule that works best for your family.

Additional Care Options at River View -
Schools Out Program: Full-day or half-day care on scheduled no-school days (professional development days, breaks, etc.)
Drop-In Care: Perfect for families needing flexible, occasional care—with same-day reservations available
Schools Out and Drop-In Care do not require monthly tuition. Instead, care is paid at the time of reservation. Please note that prior enrollment is required for participation in these programs.

Limited-Time Enrollment Offer
The standard enrollment fee is $100 per student, but for a limited time:

Register by June 30, and pay only $25 per student for enrollment fee!

This is a great opportunity to secure your child’s spot for just $25, even if your care needs aren’t fully decided yet. With Healthy Kids available all year, you’ll have reliable support whenever you need it—before school, after school, or on days off.

This is a reminder that next week is the start of our Ohio State Tests at RVIS with 3rd and 5th Grade ELA testing on Wednesday and Thursday.

This testing schedule includes some fun trips and activities for students who are not testing on the assigned days. Our grade levels who are not testing will be participating in local trips to allow for a quiet testing environment with plenty of space for our small groups and individual tests.

RVIS Families, please read over this information and try to schedule appointments and out of town events around this schedule. These days are important and it really helps our staffing and intervention schedules if we can get everyone done with the test on the assigned days for each grade level. We appreciate the help! If your child is going to miss a testing day, please communicate that to the office in advance if possible. We will do our best to get their test done in a timely manner.
